Doohamlet GFC Notes

Doohamlet 2. 13  Inniskeen 0. 04  Doohamlet make the short journey to Drumhowan on Sunday next for a league final date with Rockcorry after our emphatic semi-final victory over Inniskeen on Sunday last.

Doohamlet were simply outstanding  after a close enough first half they  blew away the opposition in the second period playing a brand of fast running football that our opponents could not match. Man of the match Kevin McArdle was always available for a pass and his constant overlapping of the player in possession saw him finish with three points. Emmet Mc Manus who replaced his brother Shane in the starting line-up can be very satisfied with his performance and took his goal expertly.

Our defence, what can you say? To hold the Inniskeen forward line scoreless in the second half and one point from play in the first half says it all. With disciplined defending they constantly turned over Inniskeen possession and gave quality ball to our forwards.

Five of our six forwards scored and this will be a major confidence booster for our final on Sunday. With a number of high profile games over the last few weeks Doohamlet players are nursing many small niggling injuries aches and pains but let’s keep the momentum going for one last push and the players will earn their just rewards.

Many thanks to all our supporters who gave the newly crowned Intermediate Champions a rousing welcome as they took the field last Sunday. Let’s see you all again on Sunday next as we try and secure an historic Double. Throw In at Drumhowan 2.30pm

Doohamlet Hall Committee holds its AGM on Thursday evening at 8.30pm. All groups using the hall should make every effort to attend this important meeting.
