Senior Championship

Every best wish to our senior team and management in their bid for championship honours this Sunday in Clones at 4pm against Ballybay.

Senior League

We have qualified for the league semi-finals and will play Magheracloone in Clontibret on Sunday, 21st October at 2.30pm.

Reserve League

Clontibret 0-14, Latton 1-9. A great win over Latton in Cloghan last Tuesday sees us qualify for the semi-final against ‘Blayney. This was a tough, gritty performance from a very young team who played with great heart and determination. Team and scorers: Declan Savage, Christopher Tedore, Kieran Greenan, Brian Greenan, Liam Savage, Donal Carragher, Aodh Curran, David Savage 0-1, Fergal Greenan 0-2, Johnny McKenna 0-1, Noel Morgan, Lorcan Murphy 0-1, Ryan McGuigan 0-5, Shane Hughes 0-1, Niall Duffy 0-3. Subs: Dean McDonald, Arthur Morgan, Michael Paul O’Dowd, Gareth Brennan. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Shane Hughes who sustained a fractured rib and to Kieran Greenan who had to come off at half time with concussion due to a bad knock. The ‘Blayney game will be played on Wednesday, 24th October at 8pm in Inniskeen.

U10 & U8 Blitz

U8 and u10 football finished up last Saturday with a very successful and enjoyable tournament in Clontibret. Drumhowan, Cremartin and Doohamlet joined hosts Clontibret, with each entering two u8 and u10 teams. It was a great day’s football with the favourable weather adding to the occasion. Many thanks to Fergal Mone, the chief organiser, to Marty Corey, Colm, Kieran and all who helped out on the day. A special thanks to our four young referees who did a brilliant job; Jack Gormley, Aaron McGuigan, Killian Lavelle and Conor Boyle. Thanks to the club for all their effort in organising this blitz and for providing medals and refreshments for the players after.

Best wishes to our u10 team who will play at half time of the county final in Clones this Sunday.

U13 Blitz

Well done to our u13s who acquitted themselves brilliantly last Thursday in their blitz in Cloghan. Thanks to Seamus Duffy and Sean Michael McSkeane for their help with this team on the evening.

U15 Blitz

There will be an u15 blitz in Cloghan this evening, Thursday at 7.30pm. All players are to meet at the hall at 7pm.

Breakfast Morning

Come along to the Community Centre on Sunday for a Breakfast Morning from 9am to 12pm on Sunday. Tickets are €10 for adults and €5 for children with concessions for families. They are available from any club member, in the clubhouse, in the Braeside or you can pay at the door on the morning. A full Irish breakfast will be served. Make sure to come along to enjoy the craic and build-up to the big game. Club gear will be available to purchase on the morning so ensure you are togged out for the game.

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathy to Owen and the McKeown family on the death of Owen’s brother Thomas who was a former club player. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

New Website

Our resident photographer Philip Fitzpatrick has a new website which is updated regularly with football photos which can be purchased online. Check it out at www.fitzpics.ie.

Hurling

Clontibret 3-10 Na Magha 3-16

There was disappointment for the hurlers Sunday evening. They showed great determination against a more experienced side. The boys cannot be disheartened as they played with great character. Up to the last 5 minutes it could have went either way only for 2 late goals from Na Magha. Overall it was a great team performance with a great display from Arthur Morgan and Fergal Greenan.

The hurling club would like to wish the boys good luck in the football championship on Sunday.
