Speedy Recovery: to Niamh Kindlon, Magheracloone, who picked up an injury in a league match against our senior team last weekend.

Liathroid Laimhe:

Mono League. The Mono League will be hopefully up and running on Tuesday coming the 2nd of October, we will play games on Tuesday and Friday evenings, Friday is to accommodate players who are only available at the weekend and whatever night the games are fixed it must be played on the night no exceptions.

Juvenile Leagues. The juvenile committee are currently setting up the juvenile leagues for all the players who played in last year’s and will be setting up coaching sessions for the younger players and all new comers to the handball, so once you have your registration paid book the alleys and get practising.

Alley Bookings. When the Mono League, Juvenile Leagues and coaching sessions are set up we will be block booking the courts for these times, so any practise time being booked must be used by that person, it is very important that people who book the alley play and don’t leave the court lying empty, this also applies to league games, they must not be played outside their allocated times as this spare practising time is vital for all players.

Adult Blitz. We will be running an Adult Handball Blitz in St.Mellans on the 7th of October at the Fun Sports Day, we will be contacting club players and neighbouring clubs about the event as to starting times and rules when we finalise them, this would an ideal bit of a run out for any adult playing in the World Championships.

World Championships. We will be having 12 players from the club taking part in the World Championships next month in Dublin, good luck to all taking part and get training its only just around the corner. Anyone travelling to the event as players, parents, coaches or just spectators if you want check out the handball website about accommodation in the City West as some good deals are being advertised at the moment.

Coaching and Refereeing Course. We hope to organise a foundation-coaching course over the next few months for all beginners to the coaching scene, it will be open to all players or parents who want to get a more understanding of the game so we encourage as many as possible to take up this opportunity. And after the new year we may also run a Level 1 course for all that have already done the foundation course.

Due to the amount of Ulster, National and College games that we are getting during the year we are considering running a refereeing course so as all will understand all of the rules involved more clearly and this will also be open to both players and parents, more info to follow as we have the courses organised.

Would all players that received gardai-vetting forms please return to Kevin asap as we want to get them all away together.
