U14: Congratulations to the under 14 team who defeated Latton in the division 4 shield final on Saturday. In a keenly contested match the sides were level after the first quarter. Doohamlet
led 1-09 to 1-06 at half-time and were one point ahead going into the final quarter. A Latton goal looked to have given them a decisive one point lead towards the end but two points won the day for Doohamlet on a score of 3-19 to 4-15. Considering most of the team are still eligible for this grade next year and Doohamlet had voluntarily moved up to the 11 a-side division 4 from the 9 a-side division 5 makes this a well merited success for the boys. The team was: Dermot Kelly, John Murphy, Cormac McKenna, Eoin Markey, Colin Gorman, Gareth Duffy, Hugh McGinn, Sean Markey, Jack Ingram, Matthew McKenna and Oisin O’Neill. Subs: Shane Leer, Oisin Fee, Daniel Connolly, Cillian Walshe and Darragh Ruddin.
Juvenile Blitz: Similar to last year the club is holding a juvenile competition to be held on Saturday next starting at 12 o’clock. Four teams have been picked from the boys featured on the under 14 and under 12 squads together with the under 14 girls panel. With plenty of talented players among the respective age groups it should make for an interesting afternoon of football.
