Senior Football.

Last Wednesday night we travelled to Inniskeen to play Magheracloone, in the League. For the large crowd present this was a great game of football played in a very sporting manner. Currin settled well playing confidently and for the second game in a row the teams were level at half time six points each. In the second half the scoring was ‘tit for tat’ with the teams being level six times throughout the game. Currin finally edged two points ahead in the twenty fifth minute and ran out convincing and deserving winners. This was our second win of the campaign against Magheracloone and keeps our hopes of staying in senior ranks intact. Final score 0-13 to 0-11. We had nine different scorers in this game, surely a record for us, with the three Mc Caffrey brothers taking pride of place, taking time off from a superb defence to lead the charge up front and score.

We are scheduled to play Scotstown on Friday evening in Scotshouse under lights at eight o clock. We have played league games in previous years under our lights and have facilitated our neighbours Clones and Killevan in playing official fixtures. We have found that these games are very attractive for all our supporters and our the neighbouring clubs. However the definite arrangements for the game will not be finalised until later in the week. These details will be posted in the village and available on twitter.

Juvenile and Youth.

Our U 14’s gave the performance of the season last Saturday morning against Truagh.
The lads knew going into this game that they had to perform to their best and this they did. This thrilling game went down to the wire with Currin a point ahead with a minute to go but in the last seconds Truagh got the equaliser. We play this Saturday in the semifinal against Carrickmacross in Carrick at 1200 pm  for a place in the final.
Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Our U10’s will take  part in the last blitz of the season also on  this Saturday morning in Clones at 9.30am

Congratulations

To Ciaran Mc Quaid, Currin player who recently achieved great success at national level by finishing in the top three in the All Ireland skills competition in carpentry.

James Brady R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the untimely death of James Brady, Scotshouse. James, only twenty two years old, won Magill Cup, Garda Cup and Maguire Cup medals at juvenile level with Currin, and was an accomplished hurler achieving All Ireland success at Feile. His brother Darragh is currently a valued member of our senior team. We extend our sympathy to his parents Dessie and Carol, his sisters Ashling and Leanne, his brothers Shane and Darragh and to his extended family. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
