Lotto – See website for results or follow up in next weeks’ paper.
Seniors – We advanced to the semi-final of the SFC on Saturday last with a tense 1-08 to 1-06 win over Scotstown at a damp Clontibret. There was never much between the teams but we were able to pull out a two point advantage over closing minutes to seal the victory. We have been drawn to face Clontibret again at the semi-final stage a game which will take place in Clones as part of a semi-final double header on Sunday 16th September. This weekend we return to league action with an away game against Carrickmacross on Friday evening at 6.30PM. Best wishes go to Paraic Greene who suffered a collarbone injury in last Saturdays game, we hope to see him back on the playing field soon.
Junior B – The B’s have finished the league in top spot and will play a semi-final over the coming weeks as they attempt to win the double.
Minors – All roads lead to Drumhowan this Saturday afternoon, throw-in 2PM, as our minor team contest the Division 1 league final against Scotstown. They made us sweat though before they advanced when defeating Carrickmacross 1-13 to 1-11 at Oram last Tuesday night. Blayney dominated the early stages of the match and boosted by a goal from Kevin Mackin, led by 1-04 to 0-02. Gradually Carrick edged their way back into contention and a goal of their own followed by some fine points edged them into a one point half time lead. The 2nd half was to be none the less exciting with both teams having periods of dominance and the outcome was still in the balance with 10 minutes left as the teams were level at 1-10 apiece, Blayney then took a grip of the game around the middle with great work from Barry Hanratty and David McMahon in particular and three points in a row was enough to seal a place in the final.
U14 – Next up for the lads are Sean Mc Dermotts on Sept 8th.
U12 Hurlers – Congratulations to the U12 Hurlers who won their League Final over Inniskeen last Monday evening.
