Truagh Notes

Seniors: We lost away to Scotstown last Sunday in the latest round of SFL matches, 0-5 to 1-11.  Our team and scorers were: Martin Treanor; John Treanor, Niall Feely, Darren Todd, Aidan Coyle, Rory Treanor (0-1), Gary Todd; Pauric Treanor, Niall McQuillan; Damian McRory, Paudie McKenna (0-1f), Niall Coyle; Sean McKenna (0-2), Keith Sheerin, Mark Counihan (0-1f). Subs Used: Chrissy McKenna for Niall McQuillan (26mins), Eoin Kelly for Mark Counihan (34mins), Justin Halligan for Keith Sheerin (56mins). We play in the senior championship this Saturday evening at 7pm in Scotstown against Latton.

Minors: Our championship began on Tuesday last, August 14, with a home match against Cremartin. We follow this with a home game to Emyvale in the championship at 7pm next Tuesday 21st August.

Recreational Football Blitz: Congratulations to Eglish who won our recreational football tournament last Saturday. Eglish defeated Clontibret 2-4 to 0-6 to claim the Peader Treanor Cup. In the Brendan Landers shield, Truagh defeated Monaghan Harps 3-9 to 2-3. Seven teams took part in the competition, with Eire Og, Round Towers-Dublin & Keady the remaining 3 teams. We wish to thank those who competed and those involved in the preparation of the food for the day.

Cairde:Anyone who has contributions to Cairde outstanding please contact Niall on 0860604386 in coming week as the last jackets are being ordered.

Party Bookings: Can be made for either bar. For booking contact 0861991150.

Club Shop: The club shop is open each Friday evening between 7-8pm. Sale rail with Hoodies, T-shirts, Water-Proof Track Bottoms, Rain Jackets and Padded Jackets. For that special occasion why not purchase a Gift Voucher. Many items to choose from.

U-12: Check with management for training.

U-14: Check with management for training.

U-6, 8 & 10: Training every Thursday evening in St. Mellans from 7-8pm.

 

Hurling:

Seniors –Our next match is away to Inniskeen  on Thursday 16th August. We then play the shield final against Clontibret on Sunday 19th August in Monaghan at 1pm.

U-16 – Training this Saturday at 7pm as per coaches.

U-12 – Training continues for all under 12 and u10 hurlers every Friday evening at 6.30pm.

 

Ladies Football:

Hard Luck: Hard Luck to our senior Girls who were defeated by a strong Donaghmoyne team last Saturday in the Championship final  . The score line does not reflect how well our girls played & how exciting the match was . We are extremely proud of both players & managers. A huge Well Done to Donaghmoyne who retained the Senior Championship for their 10th year in a row . This is nothing short of an admirable achievement .

 

Reserves: Possible game this weekend . Please see management at training for details .

 

Training: Continues every Wednesday & Friday night at 7.45pm and on Sunday morning at 11am.

 

Minors:Our Minors had a game on Monday past against Maghercloone in St.Mellans. See next week for results.

 

Thanks: The Senior girls would like to thank their hard working Ladies Commitee especially Sharon for the lovely t-shirts . We know a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes and we can assure you that we appreciate it all.

 

 

Liathroid Laimhe:

World Championships 2012.  With the World Championships just around the corner we are currently putting together forms for registrations for anyone thinking of competing, there are grades for 11’s and under, 13’s and under, 15’s and under 17’s and under and all level of grades for senior players, anyone think of playing must text you name and DOB to the handball phone on 0871600248 before Friday the 17th of August so we can get all sorted in time.

AGM. We will be holding our Agm on Thursday the 6th of September in St.Mellans at 9pm sharp we hope see as many heads old and new down, due to this being a busy year coming we ask for as much help as possible with committee and coaching as possible, also any sheets been sent out before the agm must be returned beforehand.

Mono League. Due to the World Championships in October we will be starting our league earlier this year so players will have some competitive games under their belt if they are participating in the worlds, so anyone think of making a return to the alley must be registered early to avoid and problems, all monies must be paid to Frank no other member of the committee will be excepting any money. Also any new members please forward your mobile numbers or any existing members with new numbers so we can keep everyone up to date with all that is happening during the year.
