Doohamlet GFC Notes

I.F.L.:  Seans  3-12   Doohamlet  0-11

After the high of our Championship victory over Rockcorry Doohamlet came back to earth with a massive bump going down to a heavy defeat against Seans last Wednesday night.

On an evening that nothing went right for our lads and everything seemed to go in favour of the home side the concession of soft goals at vital stages of the game proved to be our downfall.

Seans were the more hungry side and with goals at the beginning of each half gave them the impetus to push on and clearly Doohamlet were not up for the fight.  It just goes to prove that if the attitude is not right at this level you get what you deserve.

Doohamlet  1-11   Aughnamullen  1-08

It was back to league action on Saturday evening as Doohamlet entertained Aughnamullen at home and after our defeat against Seans it was a great opportunity to get back to action and exorcise the demons of three days earlier.  This was a real battle with the away side looking for valuable league points and the large crowd were treated to an end to end game of football.

Ollie Hughes turned back the years with a virtuoso performance and finished with 8 points from play and clearly Man of the Match.  Glen Comiskey returned to action and scored our only goal early in the second half.  Our half back line of Kevin McArdle, Colin Walshe and Darren Connolly continue to impress and were the springboard for many Doohamlet attacks.  Niall J. Connolly also returned to action after a lengthy break and will benefit from a full game under his belt.

Doohamlet sit proudly top of the table with only three league games left and with 25 points from 15 games played.
