Castleblayney Notes

August 28th, 2012

Lotto – There was no jackpot winner of the lotto draw this week which took place on Monday night 27.08.2012. The four lucky dips winners of €50 each were Paul McCabe, 58 Knockturnagh, Emmet McDonagh, 105 Ard Na Lorgan, Pete McMahon Snr, Cairde and James Gunner. The numbers drawn were 12, 12, 15, 21. Next weeks’ draw will place in Watters Old Coach inn on Monday 3/9/12. Thanks to everyone for your continued support and good luck in next week’s draw.

Seniors – The Faughs must come through the back-door if they are to win the 2012 championship after losing 3-14 to 4-08 to Clontibret in an entertaining game at Inniskeen on Saturday evening.  Blayney will now face Scotstown this Saturday evening at 6PM in Clontibret with the winners qualifying for the semi-finals.

Minor – The minors topped their championship group after a good win over Monaghan Harps last Tuesday night. The foundations for the win were laid early on as goals from Barry Hanratty and David McMahon gave us a lead with would never relinquish despite a 2nd half rally from the Harps. On Tuesday of this week we faced Carrickmacross in a league semi-final. Result and report of this match will be in next weeks’ notes.

Photographs – All the photographs from the Summer Camp are now on www.castleblayneyfaughs.com, many thanks to Glenn Murphy for his time and efforts. Also on the site are some high class action shots from various matches this season courtesy of Fintan McTiernan who again we thank for all the work he puts in for us.

U 16 – The Under 16 are playing for the Championship, which will be held this evening in Carrickmacross at 6.30. Best of luck to the team and management.

U 14 – Next up for the lads are Sean Mc Dermotts on Sept 8th.

U-12 – Operation TransFAUGHSmation – IT’S BACK and even BIGGER and BETTER.  The registration night took place on Tuesday evening 28th August and saw a huge turnout of people interested in taking part in this unique and highly successful 12 week fitness programme, which is due to start back with us on 11th September 2012.
