The league leaders had to come from four points down at half-time to salvage a draw at home to Currin, while their nearest challengers, Clontibret and Carrickmacross, also finished all-square. Clontibret led by ten points going into the final quarter, but an amazing comeback saw Carrick hit three goals to gain a point. They are now joined in a three-way tie for second place by Magheracloone, who ground out a one-point win at home to Magheracloone, while Castleblayney rattled the Truagh net three times on their way to a four-point win. A late goal by Elliott Maguire gave Scotstown a badly-needed win away to Monaghan Harps, who had battled back from five points down to draw level with time almost up.

Doohamlet are still six points ahead of their nearest challengers in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League after they had a comfortable win over Cremartin on Saturday. The table-toppers trailed at half-time, but conceded just a point in the second half to turn the game on its head. Second place is now shared by Tyholland and Donaghmoyne, who had straightforward victories over the bottom two clubs, Seán McDermotts and Toome, respectively. Rockcorry are up to fourth after continuing their good form by beating Aughnamullen, while Inniskeen put some daylight between themselves and the relegation zone by defeating Corduff.
