Monaghan v Down U14 challenge on Saturday 21st July

Monaghan U14 Development Squad played Down in a challenge game in Cloghan on Saturday. Monaghan and Down had two teams each and played at the same time. Monaghan played extremely well in both games winning both games. Both the Monaghan teams were lined out evenly to give everyone a chance. On one team players like Gary McCaffery (Truagh) and Shane Monaghan (Ballybay) in defence were influential with Shane Monaghan kicking 7 points from play. Gary McCaffery’s display at full back was exceptional. Ruairi McKenna (Scotstown) and Padraig Finnan (Tyholland) put in a good hour at midfield. While up front Fergal Hanratty, ( Corduff) Oisin Marron (Carrick)and Tyler O Hanlon (Aghabog) worked very hard throughout. On the other team Oisin Campbell (Emyvale) James McKenna (Truagh) played a fantastic hours football. While at midfield, Ryan O Connor(Carrick) and Aaron Courtney (Donaghmoyne) worked tirelessly. Conor Leonard (Eire Og) and Michael Bannigan (Aughnamullen) also seemed to be on hand in the forward line to score. Overall the management team were very happy with all the lads display and we are hoping to get another challenge in the next few weeks.
