Scotstown Notes

Seniors: The Championship game against Currin has been scheduled for Sunday, July 1st at Clontibret with a 6.15pm throw-in time. It will be part of a double-header with Ballybay v Carrickamacross on afterwards at 8pm. The next League game is a home fixture against Clontibret on Friday, July 6th.

B Team: The B team drew with Monaghan Harps away last week with a final score of 1-10 to 0-13. After eight games, the side are second in the table behind Castleblayney. Latton were the visitors to Páirc Mhuire on Tuesday evening – see next week’s notes for the result. After that, Castleblayney (away) are the next opponents on July 4th.

C Team: The Crawley Cup Final takes place on Friday evening at 7.45pm at Tyholland. Oram are the opponents, and a sizeable Scotstown travelling support is expected on the night. Good luck to all involved.

Recreational Football: The recreational club are running a parish league on the weekends of the 23rd and 30th of June. For anyone who is interested in taking part, please contact Mark Mullen on             086-1732603      .

Under 21’s: League action got under way on Wednesday evening with a home game against Monaghan Harps – result in next week’s notes. The next game is away to Truagh on Saturday, June 23rd starting at 7pm. Clontibret, who were the other team in Division One North have pulled out of the competition.

Minors: Minor League Division One action resumes on Tuesday, June 26th with an away fixture at Killanny. Throw-in is at 8pm.

Under 16’s: League action resumes on Thursday, June 21st with the B team in action first against Inniskeen at 6.45pm, followed by the A team taking on Killanny at 8pm. Both games are at Páirc Mhuire, Scotstown.

Under 14’s: The Division One team had a win against Donaghmoyne, while our Division Five team lost out to Fergal O’Hanlons in the latest round of fixtures. Good luck to our Under 14’s who travel to Laois/Offaly this weekend to represent County Monaghan at the Féile competition.

Under 12’s: The Division One team play neighbours Truagh away at 7pm on Thursday evening, June 21st. The B team make the trip to Oram to take on Emerald Sarsfields at 12 noon, this Saturday, June 23rd.

Beetle Drive: A big thank you to all who attended our juvenile fundraiser last week. Thanks also to the local businesses that sponsored prizes. The club greatly appreciates your support.

The Ned Run: The second annual 5 mile charity run will take place on Saturday, August 4th – more details soon.

Good Luck: Best wishes to the county Senior and Minor sides who will be in Ulster Championship action against Down at Armagh on Sunday.

Bar Rota: Sean McKenna and Kevin Boylan will be on duty at the weekend.
