CLUB NOTES

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

Just a reminder that to commemorate and celebrate Canon Gerard Ferguson’s Diamond Jubilee a special Thanksgiving Mass will take place tomorrow evening Friday 22nd June at 7pm in St. Mary’s Corravacan. Mass will be followed by a presentation night in St. Mary’s Hall, Rockcorry.

Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League

The European dream is well and truly over for the boys in green in Poznan, but it was the Men in Green & White that maintained their winning ways in the Monaghan Electrical intermediate football league as our senior team enjoyed a comfortable nine point win against Toome last Sunday afternoon. Despite the game dragging on at a pace that never quite reached any great heights or level of excitement because in truth had we not been so wasteful with our chances the game should have been wrapped up and out of sight by half time. In spite of this, we can take plenty of heart from many aspects of our display from this game but we will know that improvements will be needed if we are to be a force in the business end of this competition. Still, a win is a win as they say, and we have now maintained our unbeaten run for the last four league games (three wins and one drawn game) and this should give the lads confidence and motivation as we edge closer to the first round of the McGuigan Builders intermediate football championship. So well done lads and keep up the good work. The final score Rockcorry 2-11 Toome 0-8. Please visit www.rockcorrygaa.ie for a full match report and to view a selection of action photographs.
