Seniors: The senior footballers made a winning start to the SFC by beating Truagh in Emyvale last Saturday evening. Truagh made the better start with two early points, and although Dean Fanning got our lads off the mark, Truagh hit the next four points to move five clear by the 20-minute mark. A couple of great saves by Conall McKenna, a goal by Neil McAdam and a brace of frees by Donal Hahessy turned the game, however, leaving it level at 1-3 to 0-6 at half-time. Truagh got the first score of the second half, but points from Donal, Dean, Nicholas Scott, Niall Hahessy, Shane Smyth and David Hughes gave our lads the advantage. Truagh reduced the gap to two once again going into the last five minutes, but Shane Smyth, Niall Hahessy and Dean kicked fine scores to make the final score 1-12 to 0-10 in our favour. The next round will be against either Ballybay or Carrickmacross, who drew on Sunday.

U-10: Our Under-10 footballers represented the Harps and Monaghan at an Ulster/Leinster Blitz in Carryduff, Co Down on Saturday. Best wishes: We wish Gary White a speedy recovery after he broke two bones in his leg in the Truagh match. Gary has been one of the standout players for our senior and reserve teams this year and is captain of the O’Duffy Cup team. We also send best wishes to Philip Drohan, who underwent surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury early this week.

Golf Classic: The club would like to recognise the work of the organising committee, all participants and all those who received prizes, particularly the team of Jimmy Croarkin, Pádraig Callan, Conor Callan and Mark Keogh for having the highest score and subsequently donating their prize to support the club. Their generosity and loyalty is valued.
