MELLANS HANDBALL
Club Presentation. With the county end of year presentation over we now turn to our own Club presentation night which will take place on Saturday the 23rd of June in St.Mellans, all be there at 9:30pm as presentation will start 9:45pm sharp, we hope to see all winners, runner-ups and as many members & friends down for a bit of craic, food served with a few spot prizes also on offer, also anyone with any annual trophies or plaques please return asap to either Kevin or Christopher (PJ), who knows maybe this be another outing for Posh & Becks.
Feile Na Gael. The last remaining handball outing of the year The Feile na nGael Competition will take place over the first weekend of July 5th & 6th in the newly constructed alleys in the City West Hotel which will be used for the World Championships in October, so boys get ready for the big stage and keep practising, the team is James Mc Kenna(SH), Gary Mc Kenna(D), Aaron Mohan, Ryan Mohan, Gary Mohan and Cormac Mc Kenna(SH).
Adult Club Championships. Due to a mix up in the notes a few weeks past I didn’t report on the last club competition of the year The Coalisland Doubles Final between Ian Treanor & Kevin Treanor and Barry Treanor & Christopher Mc Kenna(PJ) which was played on Tuesday the 22nd of May, this went the way of Barry and Christopher in a very tight affair 21-17, 21-18, it was Christopher’s more alley time that proved the difference as he killed on any given opportunity, well done all.
Emerald Master Doubles. Due to the same mix up I also hadn’t congratulated Michael Mc Carron and Michael Todd on winning the Emerald Master Doubles on Friday the 18th of May as they defeated James Fealy and Sean Brennan from Corduff, well done men.
Summer Play. As many club members as possible should avail of the free lighting in the alleys during some slightly summery evenings, remember parents get them in to the alleys during the wet evenings.
