HANDBALL PRESENTATION NIGHT
The Monaghan County Handball presentation night took place last Friday night in the Monaghan Harps complex. All involved would like to thank Harps Handball Club for hosting the event, thanks to their efforts ,a great night was had by all. M.C. on the night was the county handball chairman Conor Mc Donald ably assisted by the county secretary Eamon Mc Elroy. Guest of honour was handball legend, Duksy Walsh. Duksy was kind enough to present all the winners with their trophies. Also in attendance were GAA county chairman Paul Curran and Ulster handball secretary Austin Mc Kenna. Many of our handballers compete at national level now, but lifting that home county trophy is still a great honour. A special achievement award was made to James Fealy from Corduff for his commitment to the sport. Congratulations to all who won and to all who didn’t ,”THERE’S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR”.

Well done to Ian Treanor and Eamon Todd who beat Sean Clerkin and John Mc Geough from Bawn in the Nov1 Doubles final Tuesday evening past 21-12, 21-17 this was the last remaining county competition that we had club representatives in and it was good to go out on a winning note, well done boys.

Thanks to all club members who travelled to the Harps for the annual county presentation night Friday past, by all accounts a good nights craic was had by all, pictures of the night were taken and some of the new clubs Posh & Becks were also taken keep all eyes open for the popular couple.
Club Presentation. Our annual club presentation night which will take place on the 23rd of June in St.Mellans, we hope to see all winners and runner-ups out and as many members for a bit of craic.
Community Games. The Community games team played on the weekend the 27th of May where the team came in 3rd place, they were beaten in the Semi-final by a Clare team which by all accounts had most players who would have been a year older than our boys but never the less they beat a Galway team in the 3rd 4th play-off, Ryan Mohan won his game 15-5, 15-9 Gary Mc Kenna(D) & James Mc Kenna(SH) lost 3-15,3-15,5-13 overall  but then Aaron Mohan won his game 15-3, 15-5. Eamon Todd team manager said the age difference in the first round was a major factor but with these boys being eligible to play next year who know hopefully gold will be coming up the road so well done to all the team Ryan, Aaron, Gary, James and Jamie Sherlock, also thanks to all family members who took the early track done the road on Sunday morning.
Feile Na Gael. The Feile na Gael team will soon be called into action, and the team of boys are James Mc Kenna, Gary Mc Kenna, Aaron Mohan, Ryan Mohan, Gary Mohan and Cormac Mc Kenna, so keep practising and keep in shape for the national competition.
Summer Play. As many club members as possible should avail of the free lighting in the alleys during some slightly summery evenings, remember parents get them in to the alleys during the wet evenings.
