Senior Championship:

On Sunday night next Currin step into unchartered waters when we take on the mighty Scotstown in the senior championship in Clontibret at 8.00pm. This is a special day for our small club and indeed is seen as an example to all the small clubs within the county and beyond as an example of what can be achieved. This is a great opportunity for our players and we wish Declan and Shane and the boys all the best. Please note the later change of  throw in, 8.00pm.

 

Juvenile and Youth.

Training: U-14 Training takes place every Thursday from 4.15pm to 5.30pm and training for all juveniles continues on Saturday mornings from 11.00am to 12.15pm. Your continued support for all juvenile games is appreciated. Results, league positions and fixtures are all on the official Monaghan website.

 

Ladies Football.

Congratulations to Aghabog ladies team who had a big win in the first round of the Championship on Saturday last.

 

Under 21.

Our amalgamation with Eire Og and Clones had mixed results last week. A great win over Tyholland was followed by a poor result against Emyvale. Congratulations to Fergal Connolly who is captain of this team.

 

SCOTSHOUSE:

Bingo:  Every Tuesday evening in the Scotshouse Community Centre at 9.00pm.   New members always welcome.

Music:  With Pat McCabe in the Scotshouse Community Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday.

Holiday Clubs:  These clubs will run this summer for the fourth year!  The previous three have been successful thanks to support from volunteer leaders and families.  These holiday activities are part funded by the Church of Ireland Priorities Fund and a co-operation between the Aghadrumsee, Ematris and Clones group of Parishes.  For more information and a consent form please contact The Revd Canon Helene T.Steed at the Rectory in Scotshouse.  Tel – 047-56962

Stephen Beattie would like to thank all those who voted for him in The Daily Star Tradesperson of the Year Award.  Unfortunately Stephen was pipped at the post to become the worthy runner up.  Nevertheless, Stephen can be proud of his achievement to have got through the stages of the competition to be one of the top  4 in Ireland.

There will be a Cake Sale on Sunday 8th July after 10.am Mass to help raise funds for Emma Boylan  who is travelling to India in August to do Voluntary teaching in an orphanage.  Your support in baking, buying or both would be much appreciated.

Monster Charity BBQ at Mattie’s Mushroom House,Crossreagh, Newbliss.  Saturday July 7th 9.00pm to Late.  Auction- Raffle – Full Bar.  Live music by Looney Hoppers followed by Disco.  Tickets €10  Charities supported:  Monaghan/Cavan Oncology,(Patients Comforts) Drumkill Alzheimer’s Day Care, Monaghan ISPCC.  Always a great evening well worth a visit.  Keep the date free.

ICA Trip:  The ICA trip to Belfast will be leaving Scotshouse at 8.30am SHARP on Saturday 30th June. Please be on time as we have a specified time to the exhibition.

Cemetery Sunday:  The annual blessing of the graves will take place on Sunday 9th September after 10.am Mass in Scotshouse and at 12 noon in Corrinshingo.  The Finance Committee has decided to have a Donation box at the gates to the cemetary on the day for anyone who would like to contribute towards the upkeep of the cemetery.  You are welcome to give a donation if you wish.
