Lotto – There was no jackpot winner for the lotto draw this week which took place on Monday night, the four lucky dips winners of €50 each were Mickey McCarthy, Cairde, Mindzenty Finnegan, Lakeview, Frankie Fleming, 61 The Crescent and Joanne Lambe, Shantonagh. . The numbers drawn were were 4, 10, 23, 25. Next week’s draw will take place on Monday 2nd July, in Tavey’s Bar.

Seniors – The seniors’ championship begins this weekend with a game against Magheracloone in Inniskeen at 6.15pm on Saturday evening. Please come along and show your support. There is also a league game next Wednesday night against Ballybay.

Junior C – Blayney played 2nd fiddle to Sean’s for three quarters of last Friday nights C game and trailed by 0-14 to 1-05 but a Brian McGuigan goal sparked a Blayney revival.  Caolán O’Sullivan found the net again as Blayney finished strongly to win 3-09 to 0-14. A special word of praise to stand-in goalkeeper Eoghan McTiernan for a vital save at a crucial time in the 2nd half.

U21 –  A very mixed week for the U21s with a good 0-20 to 1-06 win over Aughnamullen on Wednesday night followed by a large reversal to Emerald Sarsfields on Saturday night. The league phase concludes on Monday week with a game against Latton.

Minors – The minor team resume after the Exam break, they are in third position in the league with eight points from eight games. They now are down to the business part of the season were each match has some bearing on how they year will be definied. On Tuesday the 26th they played Carrickmacross in Toome (check Website for results) while on Tuesday the 3rd of July they play Kilanny also in Toome, both matches have a throw in of 8.pm. Let’s hope that Pete and the team can start to build some momentum for the Championship versus Kilanny on July 17th.

Under 16 – The under 16 team played Latton last Thursday night and put up a very strong performance which pleased the management team. This Thursday they play Carrickmacross out on the Concra Hurling pitch at 7 pm. Improvements in both individual and team performance are showing that the work been carried out at training is proving beneficial to all.

Under 12 Senior Team – The lads travelled to Inniskeen last Saturday  in what proved to be a very entertaining game. Inniskeen started well and demonstrated to this young Faughs team the importance of playing football from the first whistle. Trailing at the end of the first quarter, Mark made some switches which saw the Faughs come back strong before the end of the game but alas it was too  little too  late for the boys. Best on the day for the Faughs were Kian O’Connor, Craig Callan and Gavin Kelly.

Under 12 Development Team These lads had a busy couple of days, not alone had they two matches in two days, but they also were very busy playing some very good Faughs style football. On Tuesday night they played Carrickmacross with Shane Ward, Gearoid Coyle and James McAdam all coming to the fore as the Faughs ran out with a few points to spare. On Wednesday night they travelled to play Monaghan Harps and had a number of very workman like performances from Jake McManus, Niall Carville and Eoghan Casey which helped ensure that they overcame the Harps.

Under 10 and Under 8 – Both teams travelled to Scotstown on Wednesday evening and played against Latton, Truagh, Scotsown and Clontibret. Report on their progress will be in next weeks’ notes. Training continues in the field for both teams on Saturday morning at 10 am.

Under 6 – Parents please note that the Under 6’s football is moving to the football field this Thursday at the same time of 6.00 to 6.50. Tom/Keith will confirm via text system.

Cul Camp – The Club will be hosting the GAA Cul Camps in Castleblayney from 9th -13th July for boys and girls aged 5-13 yrs old.  Applications can be made through www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcampsor contact co-ordinator Colin Malone 086 3515950 or Paul O’Connor 086 8374827.  Forms also distributed through schools and available at club training.

Faughs Summer Camp – The Club will hold their annual Summer Camp in St Marys Park from August 15th to August 18th for boys and girls aged 5-13 yrs old, due to space restrictions places will be limited so we would request that parents get their registrations forms returned to any of the Juvenile Coaches as soon as possible so we can plan a great few days.

Well Done – Monaghan Minors had a great win in the Athletic Grounds last Sunday to advance to the Ulster Championship Minor Final, it was great to see the Club been represented by Fergal Malone and Barry Hanratty as they followed in the footsteps of many of the Faughs greats of the past, by playing for Monaghan in the Ulster Championship, not alone are the lads playing for the Club and the County but in their spare time they are also helping out with Juvenile teams. Well done lads.

Come Cook with Us – Castleblayney Faughs in conjunction with The Muckno Mania Festival will present a cookery demonstration with Chef Alan McArdle on the 12th July in the Gelncarn Hotel at 8pm.  This promises to be a very eventful evening with guest appearances from TV3 “Come dine with me” stars and will also feature local “Celebrity” cooks demonstrating their skills.
