Twitter is becoming more and more popular among Monaghan Gaels. The number of followers for the official Monaghan GAA twitter page has almost trebled from just over 500 to over 1,500 this year. County PRO John Kieran has placed a major emphasis on the twitter and has targeted reaching 2,000 followers by the time the Ulster championships come around. Updates have been available from every county match this year, thanks mainly to Liam Swift from the PR and Marketing Committee, giving supporters home and abroad the opportunity to stay in touch with the Monaghan teams. As well as that, around half of Monaghan’s clubs are now on twitter, with 16 of them having signed up. Some are very active and update from their matches, making twitter the first point of call for many supporters in finding out results from club games.
