Aghabog 1-03 Emyvale 1-05

We came off second best to Emyvale last Wednesday night in Aghabog. The game was played in atrocious conditions and was a very low scoring affair with a late Emyvale goal proving decisive.

 

Aghabog 1-07 Blackhill 1-06

We came away with a victory from Blackhill last Sunday by the skin of our teeth. The game was point for point throughout and another defeat looked likely when Gary McBride was harshly dismissed with ten minutes remaining. Fortunately the lads dug deep and a point at the death by Shane O’Brien secured the narrowest of victories.

 

Best Wishes:

The club would like to extend our best wishes to Sean McMeel, Emyvale who suffered a serious injury in our game last Wednesday. We would like to wish Sean a speedy recovery and hopefully he will be back in action soon.

 

Unveiling:

We are inviting Jenny Greenan and Declan Smyth to the Clubhouse on Sat 12^th May at 10:00pm to unveil a selection of photographs depicting some of their achievements over the years. All past and present playing members of both individuals are welcome to come along for what should be a good nights entertainment.

 

Table Quiz:

There will be a table quiz in aid of Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support Group held in the Clubhouse on 18^th May at 8:30pm. A number of local cycling enthusiasts are taking part in the Coast to Coast for Cancer event and your support would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy cause. Ladies Notes:

U/12: Training continues on Monday at 6.30.

 

U/14: We played Magheracloone on Monday and lost out on a score line of 5-10 to 4-10. Training tomorrow evening at 6.30. Our next outing is Monday 07/05/12 at 7pm in Doohamlet.

 

U/16:  We play Tyholland tonight at 7pm sharp. Bus leaving the football field at 5.45 this evening. Training continues tomorrow night at 6.30.

 

Seniors: We played Truagh in the reserve league on Saturday last. Scoreline Aghabog 0-06 Truagh 0-07. Senior league fixture Donaghmoyne V Aghabog on Sunday 6th May at 3pm in Donaghmoyne.

 

Championship dates:  Preliminary round at home V ONeills on Saturday 23rd June at 7pm. Semi-final is due to be played on 25th July.

 

Congrats: Congratulations to Caitlin and Katie, members of the County U/14 team who have reached the Ulster Final. Also to Sean, who is part of the management team. They play Tyrone on Sunday 13th May.

Also congrats to our county senior players, Ellen, Laura and Anita on reaching the National league final. They now meet Cork in the final on 12th May.
