Currin ‘s big day in making their SFL bow was spoiled by Ballybay, while Castleblayneymade a winning start at the expense of Truagh.

Inniskeen won the game of the night in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League away to Corduff, while newly-promoted Toome caused the shock of the round by beating Donaghmoyne.
