Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning 2th April  2012

 

* Lotto
On Sunday 1st in Lynchs bar Lisnalong numbers drawn were: 8-20-7-17. Bonus No: 25 No winner €20 winners: Lena Lennon Drockabawn, Raymond McGorman  Rockcorry, Ryan Andersen Rockcorry, Colin Fitzpatrick Rockcorry, Kathleen Clifford Scotstown. This week’s jackpot:€16,900. Draw will take place in Liam Smiths Ballybay.

 

* Senior Football

The Reserve team played Scotstown on Friday evening. Latton played with a strong wind in the first half but failed to use it to our advantage. Scotstown scored a penalty just before half time to leave them 4 points up at the break. Latton worked hard the second half to get back in to the game with Christopher Rice kicking 3 great points from play. A strong Scotstown team held on to win 5 points at the end. Scotstown 1-10 Latton 0-8

V clontibret.

Latton played Clontibret on Sunday afternoon in a very entertaining and fast game of football, with the winning score coming deep in injury time. Latton playing with the wind and started brightly and thanks to some great points from Damien Duffy and a goal from Karl Conlon lead by 3 points at half time. A Clontibret goal early in the second half put Latton under pressure put they hit back with points from Thomas Connolly and  Damien Duffy. The winning score came 4 minutes in injury time from goal keeper turned corner forward for the day Sean Mc kenna with a great fisted point. Latton 1-10 Clontibret 1-09

Senior fixtures

The reserve team play Truagh away on Saturday 7th at 6 30 pm. The senior team have their first league game at home to Magheracloone on wed evening the 11th,followed by Monaghan Harps away on Sunday 15th.

U-16

Congratulations to Eugene McGeough on getting to the all-Ireland handball final on Sunday and wishing him all the best from all in Latton GAA. The first game for our u-16 is away to Clontibret on 12th April. Training continues on Thursday evenings at 7 o’clock.

U-12

The lads were beaten by a strong Aughnamullen team on Saturday morning last. Our next game is away to Clontibret on sat 14th at 12 o’ clock. Training on Tuesday evenings at 6 o’clock.

 

U-8 & U 10

Training on Saturday morning for all boys and girls 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock.

Committee Meeting

The meeting of the Executive Committee has been changed to Friday 6th at 9 o’clock sharp.

Summer camp

The GAA summer camp will be held in Latton this year from 23th to 27th July Time table of  events at a later date.

Minors

We play our first game away to Emyvale on Tuesday evening 10th April.
