Junior C – The Cs flattered to deceive on Saturday as they were soundly beaten by Scotstown 4-12 to 3-03. The game took a while to come to life and after a quarter of an hour Scotstown lead by the games solitary point. Two goals in quick succession from David Callan then gave Blayney the initiative and when Scotstown were reduced to 14 after one of their players received 2 yellows the omens looked good for Blayney. This was to be as good as it got though and Scotstown were stung into action and a goal followed by a succession of points in the last 10 minutes of the opening period gave them a 4 point interval lead. Scotstown had the better of the opening exchanges in the 2nd half and increased their lead, David Callans 3rd goal gave Blayney brief hope but another brace of Scotstown goals saw them win comfortably.
