Club News

                                                               Clontibret

The playing season got underway in earnest last week with our U-14 team beginning their Armagh League campaign with a victory over Castleblayney. Well done girls! Many thanks to the parents and siblings who turned out to support the team and to Marie, Aisling, Catherine, Sinead and Katie whose assistance was much appreciated. Their next match is against St. Brigid’s Armagh. This match is scheduled for Tuesday next, when our seniors are also due to play Inniskeen, so a re-scheduling may take place. Please keep an eye on the e-mails and texts for arrangements and details.

On Friday evening the senior team played Ballymacnab in the Armagh League and although they gave a good account of themselves the outcome was decided fairly early on. Best wishes to Michelle Morgan who picked up a nasty injury to her shin – though she is making a good recovery.

At the time of going to press the seniors will have played Truagh in their opening match in the Monaghan League and, as outlined earlier, their second match takes place against Inniskeen, in Grattan Park, on Tuesday evening. Good luck girls!

Well done to our U-14 players who attended county training on Saturday last. This Sunday the Monaghan U-14 team participate in an inter-county Blitz in Cavan against Down, Louth, Meath and of course Cavan. Best wishes to all our representatives. Details of times and pick-up points will be forwarded as soon as they are finalised.

Due to the number of matches, training for our underage teams has to be rescheduled for the moment. Senior team training, however, will take place at 7.30pm on Friday evening. Parents will receive updates regarding all other age groups.
