Keep Saturday evening, 28th April free!! The club are hosting a trip down memory lane that evening at 8.30 in the Social Centre. School Around the Corner is a well known and popular TV programme over the years and the format is as seen on TV. The only difference is that the ‘schoolchildren’ are a wee bit older than one might expect and are drawn from the four corners of the parish. It would be an understatement to say that these people are ‘characters’ so if you want to see familiar faces give the performances of their lives, be sure to be there. It promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment and craic and is not to be missed. Tickets will be available next week and keep an eye out for posters that will give you a clue of the characters taking part. Also keep an eye out on facebook and the club website for more information. So remember, Saturday the 28th April – don’t miss it
The Monaghan GAA Integration Committee: Directed by Gerry Duffy & Eamon O Hara have teamed up with the Lithuanian community in our first venture to get Monaghan GAA more inclusive with the non traditional GAA groupings of Monaghan. A Party Event will take place where we will have Irish Dancers and musicians performing. The event is seen as important by the Lithuanian community and I would like the GAA community to give it strong support. On the 15th of April in the Family Resource Centre, Oriel Way, Mullaghmatt, Monaghan there will be an Easter celebration.  The event will start at noon and conclude at 2 pm.  The Lithuanian community of Monaghan in association with the Monaghan GAA community will present their traditions, games and songs.  The Lithuanian community will show off their traditional Easter Eggs painting with wax and paint. The GAA community will demonstrate Irish dancing and music. There will be refreshments and cake! All children and their families are welcomed!

The Aughnamullen Pipeband led the players out on the pitch to great applause. It was a very competitive match with both team showing that their players havn’t lost their touch.  There was an exciting finish with Aughnamullen just ahead by 2pts. Caroline said a few words on behalf of the Duffy family and the Aughnamullen captain Mary b was presented with the Cup by Sean Duffy.  Carmel Duffy excepted runner up medals on behalf of the Doohamlet team. Our U12 boys and girls also played two very entertaining games on the day against Doohamlet teams.  The Club would like to thank the Doohamlet Club for their co operation in organising the games.  We would also like to thank the following people for helping out on the day, Aughnamullen mens club for the use of the facilities and for having the pitch prepared and also for sponsoring the treats for the juvenile teams, Seamus Conlon for organising the PA system, The Aughnamullen Pipeband, everyone who helped with the side attractions and a special thanks to the ladies in the hall who made the very welcomed cup of  tea after the games.
