Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 29-3-12

Reserve League:

Our b team had their first outing of the season against Truagh, which gave a taste of adult football to a few young men. Each of these acquitted themselves well. Training continues as usual on Tuesafys and Fridays ay appointed time.

 

Juveniles:

U-8 &10 continue their weekly training on Saturday morning. Catherine, Cormac and co are happy with the turnouts so far but are still appealing to all parents to bring all the kids down on Saturday morning.

 

U-12: Training is going well and continues on Saturday. The Spring league starts this Saturday with a game at home against near neighbours Eire Og@ 12 noon.

 

 

U-16: Training continues this evening Thursday. Preparations are going well for their first league outing which is on April 12th.

 

Minors:

These lads continue to train on Wednesdays and Sundays. Reports from the management team is that the lads are putting in a great effort at training and that they are looking forward to their first league match on April 10th.

 

Cultural Night:

Our Traditional Irish Music sessions will be running for one year, in April. So we look forward to celebrating this, on Friday 13th April – our usual 2nd Friday slot. Junior musicians will kick off the session @ 9pm sharp, with our seasoned performers picking up the pace as the night progresses! As usual, we’re looking forward to a great night’s entertainment. Refreshments will be served.

 

So remember to keep Friday 13th April free. We look forward to seeing you all there. Everyone welcome!

 

Céile Dancing Classes take place each Tuesday evening, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Edel, Michelle & Paula look look forward to seeing all the regulars!

 

Go Games Referees:

Monaghan Coaching and Games Committee are recruiting Go Games referees for the coming year.

 

  • These referees will be offered €15 per blitz (each blitz lasts about 2 hours).
  • They will be required to referee at Under 8 and Under 10 blitzes. Overall there will be 7 under 8 blitzes and 8 under 10 blitzes (15 blitzes altogether).
  • Blitzes will take place on a Saturday morning from 10am to 12, the double blitzes will take place on a Thursday evening from 7-30 to 9-30,  from April to September.
  • Referees must be available for all blitzes.
  • All candidates applying must be between 14 and 18 years of age.

Membership:

Club membership is now due and payable to club registrar, Marie Mc Entee.

Bingo:

Bingo takes place every Monday night in the complex, with the Jackpot at €8200.

Bowls:

Bowls every Thursday night in complex at 8.30pm. New members of all ages welcome. Coaching and Bowls will be provided.

 

 

Totto:

 

There was no winner of last Monday night’s totto draw. Number sequence was as follows:2-5-7-8-3-1-4-6.
