Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning 12th march 2012

* Senior Football

The Reserve team play Scotstown in Latton on Sunday at 2 o’clock.

 

Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Executive Committee will take place Thursday the 22th at 8.30pm.

 

U-16

Training will continue on Tuesday evenings all players to be on field at 7 o’clock Sharp.

Drumgoon tournament

Our senior team played Drumgoon in the Paddy Fox memorial tournament last Sunday. In ideal conditions supporter’s enjoyed a entertaining game of football .Drumgoon started brightly and went into a two point lead early on. Latton finished the half strongly and went in leading by 3 points thanks to a Damien Duffy goal. A penalty early in the second half got Drumgoon back into the game. A hard working Drumgoon team scored 2-06 in the second half to win by 4 points. Best for latton K Farley  ,P Fitzpatrick, S Coyle .Drumgoon put in a good all-around team performance, With Jim Mc Nally & Michael  Mc Donald on top of their game, with Paddy Mc Cabe  putting in a great hours work and deserving his man of the match reward. Final score Latton 1-9 Drumgoon 2-10

Membership

Club membership is now due and should be paid to Mickey Duffy as soon as possible.

Well done to Darren and James Mc Elory on been named on the Monaghan county minor  panel ,also to Owen Lennon on winning a Railway cup medal with Ulster.

Congratulations to Tina & Brian Mc Elroy on the birth of their new son

U 12

Training begins for all U 12 on Tuesday the 20th at 6 o’clock. First game at home to Doohamlet on sat the 24th at 12 noon. The second game is away to aughnamullen on sat 31st at 12 noon.

Juvenile presentation night

On Friday 23th Dublin captain and all Ireland winner Brian Cullen will bring the Sam Maguire  to Latton centre, where presentations will be made to our successful U12—U14—U16 teams. This is a great opportunity for all parents to come and show their support for all the hard work that is done at juvenile level .Kick off 7-30 sharp.
