Killanny Notes

March 27th, 2012

Juniors
First competitive game in the league is on Sunday in Pairc Eanna against Aghabog.
Reserves
We travelled to sun drenched Blackhill on Sunday last and after a great game we came up short and the home side came away with the points. We were playing catch up most of this game with the home side getting off to a blistering start with a goal and three points before Gavin Traynor two points one from a 45 metre free and then Shane Birdy added another. Blackhill added two more and then Gavin Traynor got his foot to a bobbling ball in the square and finished up in the net. We scored three more points without reply from Shane Birdy, Donal McArdle and Michael Vernon and Blackhill scored a point on the stroke of half time to bring the scores level at 1g 7p each. Blackhill started the second half the way they meant to go on and in total scored  9 points in the second half and we had  a goal from Ryan Duffy and a free from Gavin and a point from Sean McDonald to bring the final score to 1g 16p to 2g 9p.
Juno and the Paycock

Boys Community Games
We hosted our first Community games boys under 10 game on Saturday last and the opponents were Donaghmoyne. While Donaghmoyne won the game its great to see the spirit that these games are played in and also to see so many talented players showing off their skills.
