Seniors

Our seniors made the journey to Cremartin on Sunday last for an early morning challenge match. While the result was good, more importantly, the team display was excellent and will have pleased everyone. The training is definitely paying off and will continue as usual. A big effort is asked of the home based players to keep the numbers up, especially in midweek. There will be another game on Friday night in Scotshouse against Cootehill.

Club Membership

Committee members are currently collecting club membership. The rates  have stayed the same as in previous years and your prompt support is welcomed, as all memberships must be in before the end of the month.

Advertising hoardings

A number of local businesses have taken the opportunity of supporting the club by having a sign erected at the field. These 8’ x 4’ signs will be in place before the start of the new season. Any other takers can be arranged with any committee members.

Youth Affairs

Last Wednesday a very successful registration night was held. Arising from that process is the need for more adults to become involved in the Juvenile section of our club. The good work being done needs to be complimented by more parents becoming involved. All welcome, no one will be turned away.

County Teams

Last Sunday was a good weekend for our county with a big win for our men in Clones for our home match against Louth. We tend to moan about our County board at times but certainly they deserve credit for not ‘lying down’ and accepting the decision to move the game out of Clones. Having been successful at the D.R.A, the team responded and gave a disciplined performance running up a big score in the process. The Monaghan ladies team also had a fine win over Tyrone with our own Ellen Mc Carron finishing top scorer with five points. Well done Dick and Ellen, seven points between you, you must be listening to some good advice!
