                       Clontibret Camogie News.

Congratulations to a number of our U-14 players who attended county training on Saturday last in Cloghan under the tutelage of Pauric Dowdall and Marie Greenan. The girls really enjoyed the work-out. Hopefully they will be joined by a few more players this Saturday who were doing assessment tests in the Castleblayney schools on Saturday last. Please note training commences this Saturday at the earlier time of 10.30 am – players to be in Cloghan at 10.15am.

Just as our U-14 county players got their first taste of grass, so to speak, on Saturday last, so too will all our underage training transfer to O Neill Park from now on. Training for primary school girls commences at 6pm while at 7.00pm the U-14 and U-16 panels train.

On Thursday 25 players from Scoil Mhuire will travel to the Phoenix Leisure Centre Carrickmacross to participate in the annual indoor Cumann na mBunscol Blitz from 10.30 to 12.30. Any parent or senior player available to help out is very welcome.

Last week a number of our lasses were involved with Castleblayney College’s production of Sleeping Beauty. Now most of you have seen Ailbhe, Orlaith, Aoife and Kellie in action with a hurl, but you want to see them in action with a sweeping brush!! They definitely are players to watch in the future!!!

Congratualtions to Aisling McElvaney who was part of the UUJ team that participated in O Connor Cup (colleges football) final on Sunday. Unfortunately they were narrowly defeated but Aisling made a great contribution to her side’s bid for victory.

Some of the ‘Mums’ appear to have had a ‘mature’ moment on Saturday last, or perhaps they just decided to sunbathe instead! In any event ‘Mum Without Me’ was deferred to this Saturday at 4pm – and Jean warns there had better be a full attendance!!

A reminder that all registration fees – both underage and senior- should be paid by Friday next.

Senior training continues on Friday evening at 7.30, while underage and county U-14 sessions are at the times outlined above. Fixtures for the coming year are being collated and will be distributed at all training sessions.
