Seachtain na Gaelige runs from the 7th to the 17th of March .During this week we endevour to use the language as much as we can.Rith is a national run that will be coming through the County next Saturday 10th March as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. It arrives in Castleblayney at 6pm and running to Muineachan via the Old Blayney road. The run will come into Baile Mhuineachain at 730 with a lap around the town and finish outside the Courthouse, with a welcome from the County Council Cathaoirleach. This event is being co-ordinated by Conradh na Gaeilge and Feile Oriel and they would appreciate support from GAA clubs in the county.
A practical way clubs can promote the use of the Irish language is by taking on board an initative started by an Bhoth called Ciorcal Gaeilge.A group of
people meet one night a week for an hour to converse in Irish ,the session is led by someone who is proficient in the language and is open to all abilities .It is a lot
of fun and one can see the improvement week on week.
I am available to assist any club who wish to take up this initative.
