Training

Preparations for our seniors continues with training on Wednesday at 8pm and we have a home challenge match on Friday night against Drumgoon at 8.00 p.m. All players are to be at the dressing rooms by 7.30 p.m. at the latest.

Fixtures

The fixture list is now available on the official Monaghan GAA website. Our first Senior fixture is on Wednesday evening 11th April against Ballybay in Scotshouse. The U-14 fixtures are also available on this excellent website.

Juvenile and Youth Affairs.

A Meeting for all parents who wish to register their child/children as juvenile members of the club will be held on Wednesday 7th March at 8.00pm in the club rooms at the main pitch. All juvenile members must fill in a yearly membership form, with parental consent. These forms will be available on the night. Your child/children may have received this form at school, if so please bring it with you on the night, filled in and signed. The yearly membership fee is €2.00 per child or this can be included in the family membership. It is important that all parents attend this meeting as there are a few important matters to be discussed.

 

Advertising Hoardings

“A value for money local advertising opportunity for your business in Páirc Churraichin”. An 8ft x 4ft sign can be erected to promote your association with Currin GFC. Please contact any committee member if you are interested.

Club Meeting

Next Committee Meeting is on Wednesday 7th March in Club rooms at 9.00pm.

Membership.

Club membership is now being collected. Contact any committee member. Subscriptions will remain the same as in previous years. Family and student membership is available. All membership must be paid up by the end of March.

SCOTSHOUSE

Dancing:  Every Monday at Scotshouse Community Centre  9.00 TO 11.00PM.  New members always welcome.

Bingo:  Every Tuesday at Scotshouse Community Centre at 9.00pm.  Why not come along and have a good evening.  (If your not in it you can’t win it.)

Music:  With Pat McCabe at the Scotshouse Community Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday.

The coffee/tea morning in the Rectory last Friday was well supported. The Revd Canon Steed was delighted with the €450 that was collected for Breast Cancer Research.

Keep free Sunday 18th March for St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Newbliss, organised by Killeevan National School Parents Association.

Bunnoe Crackers on in Bunnoe Community Centre @ 8.30pm on 1st, 2nd,3rd and 4th March.  Music, Comedy and dance.  This is an regular annual event which has been very successful in recent years. Well worth a visit.

Church of the Immaculate Conception: Dates for your diary: Confirmation Saturday 5th May at 10.30am in Scotshouse.  First Holy Communion Sunday 13th May at 10.00am. Please keep free Saturday 28th April when we hope to have a major clean up in the Church and grounds in advance of Confirmation.

Clones Community Forum is holding a fundraising Mr & Mrs eventing the Creighton Hotel on Friday 2nd March at 9.00pm sharp, with a weekend break for the winners.  We will also have Take your Pick on the night with €150 in prizes.  You can also dance  the night away with music by Sticky Fingers.  This promises to be a great night’s entertainment all for €10 so tell all your friends.  Tickets are available from the Cassandra Hand Centre or any committee member of Clones Community Forum.

Tidy Towns: As part of Scotshouse Tidy Towns Fundraising, we are compiling a cookery book of local recipes. All recipe donations will be greatly appreciated, no matter how simple! Please ask family and friends as well for their donations. We would also like a little quote about the recipe e.g where it comes from, who enjoys it, when you make it or some tips on cooking it. Please include contact details with your recipe and leave in Connolly’s shop or e-mail to recipedonations@gmail.com by Friday 9th March. Any queries please contact Lorraine Burns on 086 8615 253.

Photograph Wanted:  If anyone has a photograph of the late Fr. Patrick Ward who served as Parish Priest here from the early 1940’s into 1964.  Perhaps some older parishioners may have a Wedding photograph or First Communion or Confirmation photograph etc.  Please contact Fr. Cahill on  56016.  It would be much appreciated.
