Castleblayney Notes

February 14th, 2012

Ulster League – The seniors made it three points out of four in the Ulster League on Sunday last when they defeated Steelstown 1-10 to 0-12 at Celtic Park. Having trailed for most of the game a goal in the closing minutes from Mark Treanor gave Blayney victory. This weekend we are on the road again with a trip to Glenullin (Derry), note this game is now on Saturday at 2.30PM and not Sunday as originally scheduled.
Cairde Fág An Bealach – The Faughs fundraising drive, Cairde Fág on Bealach, is now well underway and the response thus far has been very positive. The aim of the scheme is to facilitate Faughs supporters and the local community in making a financial contribution to the St Marys Park development. There are two levels of contribution. People can commit €240 per year either as one yearly payment or a monthly payment of €20 per month. This will give the subscribers a special jacket and membership of the newly revamped lotto with major weekly prizes. Alternatively people can commit to paying €120 per year either by one yearly payment or a monthly payment of €10 per month, this will exclude membership of the new lotto. Our sellers will be contacting members in the near future, alternatively anyone interested in becoming a member can contact Club Treasurer Bob O Donnell on 087-6025027, Declan at Loughman Sports or any committee member.
Bowling Classic – Don’t forget the Bowling classic that the senior players are hosting at at GR8 this Saturday night. It will take the form of a team event – 4 people per team. The winning team will take home a prize of €200 and there will be food and entertainment on the evening at GR8. Each team entry costs €80 which is great value at €20 per person. Your team can consist of all ages, so it would be a great night out for the family. ! Already a lot of interest has been registered in the event and for further details please contact Damian Hughes on 0876138152 or contact any senior player who will provide further details.
