Scotstown Notes

January 17th, 2012

Ulster Under-21 Football Championship: Our Quarter-Final clash with Omagh St. Enda’s has been fixed for Sunday, February 5th with a throw-in time of 12.45pm. The game is part of a double-header, with Dungiven taking on Kilcar in the second game at 2.30pm. The Creggan club are hosting this tournament with all games being played at their ground on Staffordstown Road, Creggan, Randalstown, County Antrim.

McKenna Cup: The group stages of this competition drew to a close last night (Wednesday), with a number of Scotstown players seeing action for Monaghan in the three games to date. Kieran Hughes has also featured for U.U.J., while former clubman Ryan Daly made his inter-county debut for Antrim in the competition.

Keep Free: Tony Scullion will be delivering a session on ”Bring Back Kicking” with a selection of our clubs players. This will take place on Wednesday, January 25th at 7.30pm at Kilmore. Please keep this date free as this will be a great session to watch and learn from.

Scór na nÓg: Despite an excellent performance by Mollie McKeever, it wasn’t enough for honours on the night in the Ulster Final last Saturday in Galbally. Well done to Mollie on representing Club and County so well, and thanks also to Amy McKeever, Pauline Rooney and Mackie Rooney for their continued hard work on the Scór front. Go raibh maith agaibh!

JobBridge: Phase three of the scheme is currently being advertised on www.jobbridge.ie and on the GAA website, www.jobbridge.gaa.ie

Congratulations: Best wishes to Damian Martin, Mullantimore and Sinead Brady, Cavan who got married recently.
