Alpha Lotto – There was no winner of last week’s Jackpot in Bens Place worth €1,750. The winning letters on the night were A,Y,V,L. The winners of the €20 lucky dips were Philip McGlone, Belguim Pk.-MD, Marc McCullagh, Kincorragh, Con Quigley, Roslea, Aoife McCarville, Tydavnet-MD, Gerry Cassidy, Scotstown, McBride Family, NTB, Siobhan McPhillips, Roslea. Congratulations to all.  Next Sunday’s draw will be held in The Skule Inn at 11pm, with the Jackpot worth €1,900. Once again, thank you for your support of our weekly lotto. Team C is on lotto duty on Sunday 29th January consisting of Alan McGorman, Gus McGorman, Seamus Murray & Aidan Leonard.

Scor – The Club are anxious to play a part in the GAA’s cultural competition and are seeking competitors for all of the categories which are: Ceili Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Quiz, & Set Dancing. The Monaghan county semi-finals are scheduled for the 17th & 19th February, with the final down for the 25th February. Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to contact Cultural Officer Alan McGorman on 0879354889 for further information.

White Collar Boxing Kangaroo Style Long term friendships  will be temporarily set aside as twenty brave men and women will take to the ring to battle it out in the clubs first ever White Collar Boxing – Kangaroo Style on Saturday night coming. The glitz and glamour of Las Vegas will be brought to the Skule Inn on the night, and it’s sure to be a packed out event as the fighters get ready to rumble. The contestants were brought together by special invitation, and by the time the night arrives, the gloves will have been polished, the gum shields washed, and the weigh in completed. It is hoped that a new talent and a real find for the boxing world may be uncovered with fight names such as ‘ The Bone Crusher’, Buster ”, ‘ Boom Boom ‘, ‘ The Hit Man ‘, The Beast ”, ‘ The Greatest ‘ ,’ Twinkle Toes ‘ and many more. Tickets are €10 and can be purchased from any club member or on the night itself. The first bout is at 9.00pm so don’t be late

Ladies AGM – was held Sunday last, the 22nd January in the clubhouse. It was a great success and there was a great turnout. Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting, especially the parents of the players. “Player of the Year” awards were given to Nicole Rooney in the U-12 & U-14 section and Lauren Monaghan in the U-16 & minor section. Many things were discussed and hopefully the teams will be up and running very shortly. Officers elected at the AGM were: Chairperson-Enda McCluskey. Assistant Chairperson-Mary Hughes. Defibrillator Training Course – In conjunction with Clones Civil Defence the club intends to run a Defibrillator Training Course course in February. Anyone wishing to receive this training is asked to get in touch with Margaret Tierney by telephone on 047 57021 after 6pm before tomorrow, Friday 27th January

Cardiac Screening – Another reminder that any club member 0r non member between the ages of fourteen and thirty five wishing to be screened for Cardiac risk should contact Margaret Tierney on 047 57021 as soon as possible.

Congratulations A very happy birthday to James McCarville from Magheraney who celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends at a party in the Creighton Hotel on Saturday night last. All in the club and the parish would like to congratulate James on reaching such a magnificent milestone in his life and of course wish him many more in the future.

 

Sympathy The club extends its deepest sympathy to the family of the late Martin McCarron Ballybay, brother of former senior players Mickey & Gerry McCarron and to the family of the late Paddy Mc Vicar, Cremartin.
