Castleblayney 5km flat race

November 10th, 2011

A Chairde,
Please find  details of Castleblayneys first 5k run. I would ask that you advertise this within your club with the Poster attached – we know there are alot of keen runners out there!
Castleblayney 5km flat race is the inaugural road race to be held in Castleblayney and will serve as an excellent road race before the christmas season takes hold. Hosted by the Castleblayney Faughs club, the event will also mark the completion of the 12 week fitness, health and well-being programme run by the club in the community that encouraged local people to become more active and healthy.

Special guest on the day will be Gerry Duffy DECA Ironman & 32 Marathons. The route is a fast flat route and will be timed (not chip timing).

The starting and finish point will be the town itself and their will be plenty of activities on the day to make it a fun, family day so everyone is encouraged to take the kids and family, the big man Santa himself may also make an appearance!

The race is in support of the local St Marys Hospital Patient Fund, Irish Heart Foundation and Castleblayney Faughs Juvenile club.

Registration: Cost of entry/registration will be €10 payable online or on the day. Registration will open at 11am on the day and close at 1pm, with the race itself starting at 2pm.

It promises to be a fun filled day and an excellent race to enjoy before the Christmas season sets in. For further details, please log onto our website: www.castleblayneyfaughs.com.
