Monaghan captain Sharon Courtney has been nominated for the O’Neill’s/TG4 Ladies Football Players’ Player of the Year award. Donaghmoyne player Courtney, who will play for her club in the Ulster SFC Final this Sunday, starred at full-back in leading her county to the All-Ireland final, where they lost narrowly to Cork. The All-Ireland champions complete the shortlist with two nominees – midfielder Juliet Murphy and half-back Briege Corkery. Courtney is also one of ten Monaghan players nominated for the All-Star awards.
