Special thanks go to our three non committee members for their contributions to the evening. May Connolly was brilliant in her organising and supervising the team games for the roads – Drum Road, Annies Road, Cavan Road, Wraths Brae, Redhills Road and Cavanreagh. Dermot Beattie was superb in his role as Master of Ceremonies for the games and the raffle, and James Clark was wonderful with his music that got people up on the dance floor.
Thanks to all our sponsors- Sinn Fein Cumann, McEntees Off Licence, SuperValu Clones, McMullen Oils, Agnew & Co, Hickey’s Pharmacy, Liptons Gifts & Toys, Matthews of Clones, McCaugheys Clones, Hidden Treasures Ballyconnell, McQuaids Auto Parts, Fitzpatricks Oil and Declan Connolly. Their generosity with gifts gave plenty of spot prizes for the raffle.
Thanks also to all who were in the teams from the roads and who entered into the spirit of the evening and provided so much fun and entertainment for all. Who could forget Brian Quigley and his orange challenge! Congratulations to the Cavan Road Team who were overall winners and who had really entered in to the spirit of the evening by dressing up in Halloween costumes.
Thanks to all who supported us and gave so generously to reach a total of an amazing €1,548.40. This will be used to help members of the community in a variety of ways depending on individual needs. To date we have already arranged through the Seniors Alert Scheme and Fold to have 16 lifelines fitted along with 7 monitored smoke detectors and have had 10 security lights fitted.
If you would like our help please contact a member of the Community Alert Committee.
