U14s;The Final of the u14 Dev.3 league was held in Blackhill last Sunday in wet and windy conditions.Despite the weather a large contingent travelled from Ballybay to support the local team.Ballybay got off to a slow start playing against a strong breeze with Cormac Duffy putting over their only score in the first quarter in comparison to Aughnamullens 1.01.With the wind in their sails in the second quarter 0.1 from Matthew Ward,0.1 from Shane Monaghan and 0.2 from Eoin Mc Kearney the teams were level at half time with Aughnamullen only managing to score 0.1. By the third quarter the lads were in full flight providing supporters with displays of football that we have grown accustomed to all year.Points from Paddy O Neill,Cormac Duffy ,Ryan Mc Cann and a goal from Shane Monaghan with Aughnamullen again only putting over another point saw Ballybay take a lead of 1.8 to 1.3 going into the last quarter.Ballybay went from strength to strength scoring a further 1.6 (Shane Monaghan 0.2,Eoin Mc Kearney 0.1,Darragh Drury 0.1, Ryan Mc Cann 0.1 Abraham Dixon 1.0 and Mantas Pankinas  0.1 ) and put up a wall of steel preventing Aughnamullen from scoring at all .Final score 2.14 to 1.03.There was great celebrations as this was the double for this team having won the Championship back in May and also remained unbeaten for the entire season !! A great achievement lads, congratulations! Congratulations too to the management Colm Duffy ,John Joe Mc Kearney and Enda Monaghan .
