Sean Mc Dermotts Notes

September 27th, 2011

Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 22-9-11

Fixtures:

Sat 8th October Seans V Rockcorry @4:00pm

Sun 16th October Seans V Aughnamullen @ 12:30pm

U-14’s:

Our under 14’s succumbed to a more efficient Scotstown side on Saturday last. The biggest factor was the strong breeze which was extremely difficult to play and defend against. Although these young men are extremely disappointed they can hold their heads high as this the first time we have appeared in an underage Division 1 league  semi-final since 1994. These young men and their mentors have been training twice and sometimes three times a week since early March. Many thanks to the many people it takes in running a team efficiently, especially managers, trainers, selectors, supporters medical personnel and the player’s parents who are always vocal, and ensured they were collected promptly after training sessions.

Irish Heart Foundation:

There will be a collection for the Irish Heart Foundation at Masses on the weekend of Sunday 9th October. Please support this worthy cause.

Intermediate League:

Last Saturday we travelled to Tyholland and although we were only beaten by 3 points, it was a game that Tyholland always dominated. Speedy recovery is wished to Brian Mc Quaid who sustained a shoulder injury on Saturday last. We wish him a speedy recovery. We have two remaining fixtures in the Intermediate League and probably need to gain maximum points in order to have any chance of qualifying for the semi-final of the Mc Aviney Cup. The first is at home on Saturday week @4:00pm.

Jubilee Celebrations:

Tickets are available from any committee member for our Gala Banquet on Sunday 30th October in the Hillgrove Hotel.
