All Ireland Champion. Congratulations to Magheracloone and Monaghan goalkeeper, Shane Duffy, on winning the MBNA sponsored Cic Fada competition last weekend.

In extremely windy conditions, Shane kicked the ball over sixty metres to beat off opposition from twenty other inter county stars. Second place was claimed by Armagh goalkeeper, Paul Hearty while Kildare’s Paul Flood finished in third place. The competition was held in the Bray Emmets ground in Wicklow and the competitors had to kick with both length and accuracy.

The title of All Ireland champion will rest in Magheracloone for the next twelve months and Shane will hope to add to his trophy collection with the club in the next month.
