Castleblayney Notes

September 13th, 2011

Seniors –The seniors gained two league points with a low key 2-16 to 2-06 victory over Doohamlet last Saturday afternoon. Blayney grabbed the initiative early on with a brace of Bart McNamara points and were never headed during the game. Blayneys goals came either side of halftime from Marty McElroy and Dermot Malone. This Saturday they travel to Magheracloone for a 5PM throw-in.

Minors – The minors played Carrickmacross last night (Wednesday) in a league semi-final, result and report next week.
Reserve Teams – Both our Junior B and C teams both qualified for their respective league semi-finals over the weekend without kicking a ball. Results elsewhere meant they were safely through. The Cs will play Aghabog in their semi-final with the Bs opponents still unclear at this stage. The Bs have a league game at home to Cremartin this Sunday at 12.30PM
Operation TransFaughsmation – Huge numbers attended the first night of Operation TransFaughsmation on Tuesday night and the programme continues tonight Thursday with a walk around the Black Island at 7.00PM. There will also be a run/walk at the Black Island on Sunday morning for those interested. Details and times of each week’s activities will be posted on www.castleblayneyfaughs.com.
Juvenile Training – Juvenile training has been halted for a couple of weeks to give the coaches a well earned rest but will return with a vengeance in October with the launch of the annual winter training programme.
