ROCKCORRY G.A.A.

CLUB NOTES

2nd August 2011

Vandalism

This week I have to report the club is extremely disappointed with a recent spate of vandalism to club property which resulted in the roof of our dugouts being broken. The club is run by volunteers who give their time for the betterment of the community and therefore this type of activity is very annoying.  Unfortunately, this is not the first time something has been broken and this is absolutely disgusting behaviour. The club has put in a lot of work improving facilities so that people can enjoy using them but due to this mindless outbreak of vandalism we now find ourselves in a difficult position of locking up our facilities which is a sad day because lots of boys, girls and families go to the field to enjoy a kick-about.

We are hoping that if people are aware of this, if they see something going on at night-time or during the day they will contact the Gardaí or bring it to the attention of a committee member. There is no justification for this type of behaviour and we all have a role to play to ensure incidents like these are brought to an end. Any information about the identity of the culprits would be welcome.
