DRUMHOWAN CLUB NOTES 25.7.11

Phillip Courtney Memorial Tournament

We have been invited by the Blackhill Club to participate in the Phillip Courtney Memorial Tournament which takes place next weekend.  The participating clubs are Doohamlet, Crossmaglen, Drumhowan and Blackhill. On Friday 29th, Doohamlet take on Crossmaglen while Drumhowan play the home club on Saturday evening 30th.  Both these games take place at 7.30pm.  The final will be played on Sunday 31st at 6.30 pm.  All proceeds from the tournament are going to the Castleblayney Care Association for children and adults with intellectual and physical disability.  The club would urge all our supporters to support this very worthy cause by turning up in large numbers for all the matches, not just those involving our own club.

Under 14 Parish League

The Drumhowan and Ballybay clubs are organising a parish league in the coming weeks.  Adult players from both clubs are being asked to manage and coach teams, which hould not take too much of their valuable time as the league will be promptly run off.  A sponsor for the league is being sought, anybody interested should contact the secretary of either club.  Full details of fixtures, venue and times will be published shortly.

Club Meeting

The July meeting of the club executive takes place in the community centre on Thursday next, commencing at 8.30 pm.
