Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors: Doohamlet  0-10   Clontibret  2-09

Doohamlet entertained Clontibret at home on Friday evening last in this local derby and the large crowd enjoyed a fine game of football.  Clontibret started the much brighter with county star Conor McManus in fine form and had scored 1-02 before Doohamlet opened their account with a Mark Murphy free kick.  Clontibret were more efficient in front of goal and added further points before Mark Murphy and Shane McManus added to Doohamlets tally to leave the halftime score Doohamlet 0-03  Clontibret 2-04.

The second half was a much closer affair as Doohamlet threw everything into attack and with Mark Murphy and Ted Duffy now in full flow scoring three points each reduced the deficit to only three points entering the final ten minutes.  Doohamlet now with momentum suffered a serious blow when a speculative shot rebounded off the crossbar only for the referee to award a point for Clontibret and this proved the decisive score as Clontibret finished five point winners 2-09 to 0-10.
