Seniors: Our next league game is scheduled for this Friday, July 1st, away to Scotstown. TI is 8pm.

Reserve Div. 1 (B’s): We beat Cremartin in the championship last Wednesday night, 2-9 to 1-9 to advance to the semi final. We will play at home to Magheracloone in the semi on Wednesday 13th July. We were due to play Clontibret last night, Wednesday.

Reserve Div. 3 (C’s): We beat Aughnamullen in the quarter finals of the Crawley Cup championship last Friday evening 0-12 to 1-8. We now play Scotstown in the semi-final.

Minors: We were due to play St. Patricks last Tuesday night in the league. We follow this with a league game away to Castleblayney on Tuesday 5th July at 7.45pm.

Strictly Come Dancing: Coming to Truagh this autumn. To see you, to see you, nice. More details to follow.

Carrickroe Welcome Home Festival: is happening this weekend. Lots of entertainment for all the family, throughout the whole weekend. Check out posters for details locally.

Recreation Tournament (0-35 or thereabouts): We started with a win over the hosts in the Clontibret tournament last Sunday evening. We are taking part in a match at the Carrickroe Welcome Home Festival this Sunday 3rd July. Please assemble at the festival at 2.30pm. We would like to encourage anyone interested in playing to come along..

Club Shop: The club shop will is now open each Tuesday between 6.30pm-7.30pm and every Thursday and Friday evening between 7-8pm.

Lotto Jackpot now €4,200: There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The lucky numbers were 4, 13, 21, 23. There was 1 match 3 winners, receiving €200: Gerard Sherry-Clara. The jackpot now stands at €4,200. Next weeks check team: Josie’s.

U-6s: Coaching continues this Saturday at 10am for 4, 5 & 6 year old boys and girls in St. Mellans. Indoor area will be used in the eventuality of rain. All welcome.

U-8s: Training continues in St. Mellans every Thursday evening 7-8pm.

U-10s: took part in our 3rd county go games blitz in Cloghan last Saturday. The team that finished on the day were: Conor McGinn, Ryan Harnet, Ryan Boyle, Ronan Boyle, Conor Maguire, Christopher Flood, Fergal Flood, Cian Maguire and Caomhon Woods. Well done to all. Thanks to Darren Sherlock for travelling to referee. Training continues every Thursday 7-8pm in St. Mellans.

U-12s: Our a1 team beat Donaghmoyne on 6-16 to 4-03 last Tuesday evening. The next game is away to Carrickmacross on Saturday 9th July at 1.15pm. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 11.30am. The u12s a2 team play Clones at home on Saturday 2nd July at 12pm. Training continues for both teams as per management.

U-14s: were beaten by Clontibret last Saturday. Our next game is away to Toome on Sunday 17th July at 11am. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 9.45am. Training continues as per management.

U-16s: were beaten by Scotstown last Thursday. Our next game is away to Carickmacross on Thursday 30th June at 7pm. Bus leaves St. Mellans at 5.30pm. Training continues as per management.

Cul Camps: The Monaghan VHI GAA Cul Camps is being held in St. Mellans between 4th to 8th July. Application forms will be distributed at training this week. All camps cater for 5 to 13 year olds boys & girls. Cost €55 for 1st child, €50 2nd child, €45 3rd child. Please register online at www.gaa.ie. Camogie:

Seniors: Training continues tomorrow at 7.30pm and on Monday at 7.30pm.  Hard luck to our girls who were beaten by Inniskeen in our first championship game on Sunday last. All is not lost however, if we can keep the numbers up at training we can still go on to win our next game, which is against Clontibret on next Wednesday July 6th.

Juveniles: Juvenile training on Saturday at 11am.  Una Ennis, Lauren and Kate are on duty next week.  New players are very welcome.

Lucky Square: Congratulations to Majella McKenna who was last weeks winner of the lucky square.  Could anyone that owes for the lucky square please see Majella.  Thank you to all who support.

 

Ladies Football:

U-12’s: Had a convincing win over O’Neill Shamrocks on Sunday last. Next game is on Saturday 2nd July. Time and venue will be confirmed by management at training.

U-14’s: Congratulations to our u-14 girls who beat Tyholland in the league final on Monday 20th June. A big thanks to Mickey & Aoibhinn who worked & trained hard with these girls.

U-16’s: Game on Monday 11th July at home to Scotstown.

Senior A’s: Started our championship campaign on Saturday last with a disheartening defeat to a superb Donaghmoyne outfit. We were due to play Emyvale last night, Wednesday. Report to follow next week.

Senior B’s: Started our championship campaign away to Emyvale B on Tuesday past. Report to follow next week.

Thousand Euro Drop: Takes place on Saturday 13th  August. Tickets on sale this week at €10 each from any member of the Ladies Club.

Handball:

Club Finals: A few niggling injuries are holding up the 3 remaining club finals, but we hope to have these ran off in the very near future. We intend to run all 3 of on the same night.

Summer play: Any seniors or juveniles wanting to keep practising can do so as natural light will provide plenty of free lighting for the next few months. It is a great way of getting some free enjoyment and valuable exercise.

 

Hurling:

 

Mr and Mrs: Keep free Saturday night the 30th of July to witness local couples being tested on their knowledge of each other. A great nights’ craic expected.

Seniors: Our seniors progress into the reserve league final after a scrapy win over Inniskeen on Thursday evening last. The game never really got flowing with both sides battling ferociously for every ball, but in games like these it’s more about the result and when scores were required our lads seemed to get them. They now play Monaghan harps in the final which is fixed on the 24th of july. We play in the senior championship next were they play the Harps in Emyvale this Sunday. Throw in 1.30pm.

U-12s & U-16s: Training continues on Wednesday at 6.30pm.
