Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 2-06-11

Fixtures:

Friday 3rd June Crawley Cup B Championship Seans V Aughnamullen @7:30pm

Tuesday 7th June U14 Donaghmoyne V Seans @ 7:00pm

Team Affairs:

Our B team had a good run out against Truagh in the RFL Div 3 on Wednesday night last. Although not at full strength due to injury and college exams our players acquitted themselves well. Some faces from years gone by answered an SOS to ensure we fielded as competitive a team as possible, and also some of our younger minors. We would like to thank them for their commitment and the door is always open to play when the need arises. This Friday evening we face Aughnamullen in the Crawley Cup first round at 7:30pm.

Minors/Under 16

Our minor squad are taking a well earned rest for the students preparing for the State Examinations. We wish them all the best in their studies and hope to see them flying fit at the end of June when the competition resumes.

Alzheimer Society:

The Co Monaghan branch of the alzheimer’s society are holding a dance in the complex on Friday 17th June. All support appreciated. Music by Easy Touch.

Lounge:

Big Pat will provide entertainment in the lounge on Sunday night 5th June, and hopefully we will be able to celebrate our exploits in Omagh earlier in the day.

Traditional Music:

Our monthly Traditional Irish music session takes place on Friday 10th June @ 9pm sharp. Looking forward to seeing you all there for what’s promising to be a terrific night’s entertainment. Everyone welcome !

Ulster Championship:

Best of luck to Mark and the Monaghan senior team this Sunday against Tyrone in the first round of the Ulster Championship. Commiserations to Conor Mc Elroy and the county minor squad who faced a formidable Tyrone team last Sunday evening in Enniskillen. Despite getting off to a good start we needed to put another couple of points on the board, however Tyrone started to gain the upper hand from there on in.
