DRUMHOWAN CLUB NOTES 2.5.11

Monaghan
Electric IFL

Drumhowan 0-9  Seans 0-6

After two disappointing results against Carrick and Currin, our
intermediate team returned to winning ways with a three point margin over Seans
on Sunday last. A gale force wind made playing conditions very difficult, hence
the low scoring, and there was little between the sides until Drumhowan pulled
away towards the end.  Good to see the
return of James McElroy, Darren Duffy, Liam McGuirk, Dermot Mooney,  Paddy Mulligan and Enda Duffy.  Team: Enda Duffy, Dermot Mooney, Paddy Duffy,
Markm O’Neill, Niall Mooney, Liam McGuirk, Paddy Mulligan, Enda McElroy, Dermot
McDermott, Darren Duffy, Colm Lambe, Kevin Mooney, Kieran Mooney, James
McElroy, David Millar.  Subs used; John
Paul O’Neill, Kieran Deery.

Platinum
Tanks RFL

Donaghmoyne 3-11  Drumhowan 1-13

The reserves turned in an excellent performance against Donaghmoyne on
Wednesday evening last but failed to secure a result. Disaster struck early in
the second half when Donaghmoyne found the net on  three separate occasions but despite this
huge setback, the team responded magnificently to cut the deficit to just four
points in the end.  Team: Matthew Lambe,
Jason Monaghan, Mark O’Neill, Barry Guiurk, Conor Duffy, Dermot Mooney, Damian Mooney,
Mark Quinn, Enda McElroy, Michael Atkinson, John Paul Duffy, Ronan Duffy, David
Caulfield, Kieran Deery, Kieran McElroy. Subs used: Martin McElroy, Mark
McCabe, Patrick Markey, James Mulligan

Friends of Drumhowan

The committee is making a special appeal to our members to support the
Friends of Drumhowan fund raising scheme..
This scheme has been the lifeblood of the club in recent years and is
our only major fundraiser.  By
contributing to the club through the scheme, you will be ensuring that the good
work done with the children and the youth of the community can continue.  All collectors are urgently requested to make
a special effort to ensure that the current membership is maintained and
increased if possible.  Returns should be
made to the treasurer, John Reilly, the scheme organiser, Kieran McCabe or any
committee member as soon as possible.
