Castleblayney

May 3rd, 2011

Seniors – The senior’s put in an extremely poor performance when going down to Ballybay last Friday night. Ballybay started much the better and outscored Blayney 1-5 to 0-1 over the first 20mins before a Keith Hill goal and a point from the same player reduced the deficit to 3 but late points from Ballybay saw them lead by 6 at half time. Blayney had the upper hand in the early exchanges of the second half and reduced the arrears to 2 with 15 minutes remains, thanks mainly to the free-taking of Keith Hill but a breakaway goal from Ballybay sealed Blayneys fate and the teams traded points in the closing stages with Ballybay running out 2-12 to 1-10 winners.
