Castleblayney Notes

May 17th, 2011

Seniors – The seniors played Monaghan Harps last night (Wednesday) in a re-arranged fixture and on Sunday they are away to Inniskeen (2.30PM)

Junior B – The Bs overcame Magheracloone 4-06 to 0-10 on Saturday evening last in a league game played on Toome. Blayney edged a low key first half 1-03 to 0-04 with the goal machine Gerry Brady getting the goal. Two points looked a slim lead with Blayney to face the elements in the second half but early goals from Brady again and Fergal Duffy paved the way for a comfortable victory. There are two B games next week both away from home, Magheracloone are the opponents on Wednesday evening (7.45PM) and on Friday night its Truagh also at 7.45PM.

Junior C – The Junior Cs had a good 5-12 to 2-05 victory over Eire Og last Wednesday night. The platform for the victory was built in the first 15 minutes as Blayney netted three times with the scores coming from David McMahon, Paddy Conlon and Gerry Brady, on their way to a 12 point half time lead. The second half was a more even affair but Eire Og never looked like getting back into the game. This Sunday evening the Cs travel to Truagh for a 7.45PM throw in.
